This Privacy Policy explains how Golden Coast Rehab ("Golden Coast," "we," "us") collects, uses, shares, and protects information gathered through this website, through the forms on it, and through the phone and text conversations that follow from it. It applies to goldencoastrehab.com and to the contact and insurance-verification forms hosted here.

This is not our Notice of Privacy Practices

If you become a client, the health information we create and keep about your care is HIPAA protected and is governed by our Notice of Privacy Practices, a separate clinical document provided to you at intake. That notice, not this page, describes your rights over your treatment records and how we may use and disclose them.

This policy covers the website. Where the two overlap — for example, when you send us your insurance details through a form and later become a client — the Notice of Privacy Practices governs the clinical record once care begins.

Information we collect

Information you give us

Our forms ask for what we need to route your inquiry and check your coverage, and nothing beyond it:

• Contact form: your first and last name, phone number, and optionally your email address and a message.
• Insurance verification form: your first and last name, phone number, date of birth, insurance carrier, and policy or member ID.

You may also give us information by calling us, texting us, or emailing us. Anything you volunteer in a message — including details about your health, your substance use, or a family member — is collected when you send it.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, this one records technical information when you visit: IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, referring page, the pages you view, and the dates and times of those visits. Cookies and similar technologies are used for analytics and, where applicable, advertising measurement.

How we use your information

• To respond to you, by the method you used to reach us.
• To verify your insurance benefits and explain what your plan is likely to cover.
• To determine whether our programs are clinically appropriate for you, and to refer you elsewhere when they are not.
• To schedule an assessment or admission and to follow up about it.
• To operate, secure, and improve this website, including detecting and blocking abusive or automated submissions.
• To meet legal, regulatory, licensing, and accreditation obligations.

How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with lead-generation brokers or list buyers.

We share it only as follows:

• With health care providers and payers involved in your care or coverage, including your insurance carrier when we verify benefits at your request.
• With service providers who work on our behalf — the vendors that deliver our email, host this website, provide our phone and call-tracking system, and supply analytics — under obligations restricting what they may do with it, including business associate agreements where the law requires them.
• When the law requires it, including valid court orders, mandatory reporting obligations, and situations involving a serious and imminent threat to health or safety.

Substance use disorder records

Information identifying you as someone who has sought or received substance use disorder treatment from us carries protection beyond HIPAA, under the federal confidentiality rules at 42 CFR Part 2. In general those rules mean we cannot confirm to anyone — including an employer, a landlord, or a family member — that you are a client here without your written consent, subject to narrow exceptions the regulations define.

Calls, text messages, and consent

Our main line, (858) 925-8589, is a recorded and call-tracked number. Calls to and from this number may be monitored or recorded for quality assurance, staff training, and accuracy of the clinical and admissions record. If you would prefer not to be recorded, tell the person you are speaking with and we will make other arrangements.

When you check the consent box on a form, you agree to receive informational text messages from Golden Coast Rehab about your inquiry, your benefits check, and your appointment. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help. Marketing text messages, if you consent to them separately, can be declined without affecting your ability to receive care. Consenting to text messages is never a condition of treatment.

Mobile phone numbers collected for text messaging are not shared or sold to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and analytics tools to understand how visitors find and move through the site so we can improve it. Most browsers let you refuse cookies or delete existing ones through their settings; the site remains usable if you do, though some features may behave differently. Where we use advertising or conversion-measurement tags, they are used to measure the performance of our own outreach, not to build profiles for sale.

How we protect and retain information

Form submissions are transmitted over encrypted connections and delivered to a limited internal admissions inbox. Access is restricted to staff who need it to do their jobs. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security; please do not send detailed clinical information through a website form or unencrypted email.

We keep website inquiry information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected and to meet our legal and regulatory obligations. Clinical records, once care begins, are retained under the schedules that California law and our licensure require.

Your California privacy rights

California residents have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act. Subject to the exemptions the statute provides, you may:

• Know what personal information we have collected about you, where it came from, why we collected it, and who we disclosed it to.
• Access a copy of that information in a portable form.
• Correct personal information you believe is inaccurate.
• Delete personal information we hold about you.
• Limit the use of sensitive personal information to what is necessary to provide the services you asked for.
• Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA, so there is nothing to opt out of, but the right stands.
• Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights. Exercising them will never affect the care you receive or the price you pay.

Two limits worth stating plainly. First, medical information governed by HIPAA and by California's Confidentiality of Medical Information Act is exempt from the CCPA and is handled instead under those laws and our Notice of Privacy Practices — so a request about your clinical record follows that process, not this one. Second, we will need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and we may decline a request we cannot verify.

Children's privacy

Golden Coast Rehab serves adults, and this website is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 through this site. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, contact us and we will delete it.

Links to other websites

This site links to outside resources, including government agencies, crisis lines, and clinical references. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their content or their practices. Following such a link means the policy on this page no longer applies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our practices, our vendors, or the law change. The revised version will be posted here with a new "last updated" date. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
