Family therapy treats the system around the client — communication patterns, boundaries, and the roles that formed while things were hardest. A person recovers into a household, not into a vacuum, and the state of that household affects how well recovery holds.
This is not about assigning blame for how someone got here. Most families did the best they could with what they understood at the time, and some of what helped in the short term is now in the way.

Accommodation
The things family members started doing to prevent visible distress — providing reassurance in OCD, taking over avoided tasks in anxiety, covering financially in addiction. Each was kind. Together they became the scaffolding holding the problem up.
Roles

Therapy at Golden Coast Rehab is delivered inside a program rather than as a standalone service. That means our specialty mental health partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs, provided under our County of San Diego contract, and our substance use intensive outpatient and outpatient programs under DHCS certification 370254AP.
