Getting here from Lemon Grove

Driving: Broadway and the local surface streets connect directly into La Mesa; State Route 94 and State Route 125 are both close at hand.

Transit: the MTS Orange Line trolley stops at the Lemon Grove Depot and continues east through Spring Street to the La Mesa Boulevard station. No transfer, and a short ride — which matters a great deal if you do not drive.

The Lemon Grove Depot as a starting point

The Lemon Grove Depot sits near the intersection of Broadway and Lemon Grove Avenue, the historic center of the city, and it is the trolley stop most residents use. From there, the Orange Line runs east without a transfer to the La Mesa Boulevard station — a ride short enough that some clients find it faster than driving once parking is factored in. Residents near College Estates or the eastern edge of the city, closer to the La Mesa line, have an even shorter trip either way.

Why proximity matters for an intensive schedule

PHP meets a morning and afternoon block on the same day; IOP meets mornings only. For a community this close, the travel time on either program is close to negligible, which removes one of the more common practical barriers to attending consistently. That does not change the clinical decision of which program fits — that is made at assessment — but it does mean Lemon Grove clients rarely cite the commute itself as a reason attendance became difficult.

We hold County Contract 575462 to provide Specialty Mental Health Services — PHP and mental health IOP — for San Diego County Behavioral Health Services, and DHCS certification 370254AP to provide outpatient substance use disorder care, covered on our addiction treatment programs page: detox, outpatient, intensive outpatient, and medication-assisted treatment. Neither program includes residential or inpatient beds.
