8809 La Mesa Blvd., Suite 102, La Mesa, CAOpen in Google Maps
Spring Valley borders La Mesa to the south, which makes our facility one of the closest outpatient options in the area. We do not operate a facility in Spring Valley — clients travel to 8809 La Mesa Blvd., Suite 102, La Mesa, CA 91942.
From Casa de Oro, Rancho San Diego, and the neighborhoods along State Route 125, this is a short local trip.
Getting here from Spring Valley
Driving: State Route 125 north, or local surface streets through the Casa de Oro area. Both are short. State Route 94 connects the southern end of the community to SR-125.
Transit: MTS bus routes connect Spring Valley to the Orange Line trolley stations in Lemon Grove and La Mesa. Because the distance is short, this is one of the more workable transit trips of any community we serve.
Casa de Oro and the neighborhoods closest to us
Casa de Oro, the commercial center of Spring Valley along Campo Road, sits within a few miles of La Mesa Boulevard by either surface streets or SR-125 — close enough that a Spring Valley address often means a shorter drive than some La Mesa addresses further from the village center. Jamacha and the neighborhoods nearer Sweetwater Reservoir add a little more distance but stay on the same general route. This proximity is one reason Spring Valley shows up often among the communities we hear from at intake.

What being this close means in practice
Bus service between Spring Valley and the Lemon Grove and La Mesa trolley stations is frequent enough, and the ride short enough, that clients without a car often find it genuinely workable for a program that meets daily. That is not true for every community on this list, and we want to be specific about it rather than making a general claim about transit that does not hold up everywhere. If a specific route or schedule is unclear, ask when you call — the answer depends on which part of Spring Valley you are coming from.
Rancho San Diego's shared border with Spring Valley
The Rancho San Diego area overlaps loosely with both Spring Valley and El Cajon depending on where the line is drawn, and for that reason the commute question comes up from residents describing their address either way. Whichever name someone uses for the neighborhood, the drive north on SR-125 into La Mesa is the same short trip.
Programs we're authorized to deliver from this address
We hold County Contract 575462 with San Diego County Behavioral Health Services as a Specialty Mental Health Services provider, covering PHP and mental health IOP, and DHCS certification 370254AP for outpatient substance use disorder care — detox, standard outpatient, intensive outpatient, and medication-assisted treatment — described further on our addiction treatment programs page. Neither authorization covers residential or inpatient treatment, and we do not provide either. For condition-specific information, see our pages on anxiety, depression, and related diagnoses.

Splitting time between Spring Valley and work in La Mesa or El Cajon
Because Spring Valley sits between several employment centers in East County, some clients already commute through or near La Mesa for work, which makes fitting a morning program block around a job simpler than it would be from farther out. That is worth mentioning at your first call, since scheduling questions are easier to answer with your specific commute in mind rather than in the abstract.
Coverage under Medi-Cal
Because San Diego County Behavioral Health Services, not your individual managed care plan, administers specialty mental health and Drug Medi-Cal benefits, any of the county's four Medi-Cal plans work the same way for Spring Valley residents, at no cost to you when clinical criteria are met. The specifics are on our Medi-Cal page.
Crisis lines and County referrals
The San Diego County Access and Crisis Line takes calls at any hour, at 1-888-724-7240, connecting you free and confidentially to urgent support or other County providers whether or not you contact us afterward. In an active crisis, 988 reaches the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline by call or text, and 911 is the right call when someone is in immediate danger. Our office answers (858) 925-8589 24 hours a day for questions about admission.
